Amtrak trip Providence RI to Orlando Fl advice pls
 

It has been....forever since I've taken the train...so I decided to
travel from Providence RI to Orlando Fl.

Thanksgiving night I leave Providence.

1st train is from Providence RI to Washington DC 10:30 PM Arrive DC
7 AM

2nd train leaves DC at 3PM.

I'll have almost a whole day in DC.

Tips on travel from Union Station and what to see, please..

Tips on riding the train. I'll have two 'over nighters'.

It is easy to get to the Metro, Union Station is on the RED line. Change at
Gallery Place/ChinaTown to the GREEN line and go to L'Enfant Plaza, short
walk to the Air and Space Museum but ask someone which exit, there are a
number and you can get very lost if you exit at the wrong one!! ... or ...
change at Metro Central and take the BLUE line to the Smithsonian station
and end up in the middle of the mall. Ether way you can easily pass a day
with very little trouble and expense. You can also eat cheaply in the
Chinatown are, pick a resturant with a crowd and you cannot go wrong.
