UK CITIZEN MARRIED TO BRAZILIAN WANTING TO MOVE TO PORTUGAL
Hi Everyone,
Firstly a quick introduction I am a UK/Australian citizen wanting to move with my husband to Portugal for a year of so, we don't have any work lined up and intend on travelling around at first before we settle in. We have searched all over immigration sites for answers but having no luck. Does anyone know or can direct us if it is possible for my Brazilian husband to obtain a Schengan visa for Portugal that is longer than 3 months given that we are married? Thanks in advance. |

As a UK citizen you have right of abode in Portugal [for the time being at least]. However, to bring your husband, you will need to show means of support sufficient for you both.
At least, that's how it worked in our case. If you're serious and want accurate answers, best to get a consultation with an immigration lawyer. The cost will be nothing compared to your travel expenses. |

However, they did require a PT bank statement that they made a copy of and it only had about €300 in it. |
