Is there any point in bringing a flatscreen freeview tv to Portugal, will it work. Also will a british DAB radio work there? Thankyou, Linda

Re: TV
Hi, lindajt & Guys.
If your TV has the DVB-T technology and MPEG-4/H.264 norm inside/installed it will correctly receive the 5 "free-to-air" portuguese digital tv channels: RTP1, RTP2, SIC, TVI and ARTV.
DAB radio started in Portugal in the summer of 1999 but was disconnected in April 2011 due to general lack of interest and huge costs. There are plans to upgrade DAB to DAB+/DRM+ but no dates were disclosed. Nevertheless you still have lots of analog local, regional and national radio stations to tune into.
You can also install a satellite dish with a receiver box and tune into the international channels you want and/or stream everything online.

Re: TV
While I'm here, I just want to rant about Camposat TV. First a bit of background.
We bought a 32" smart TV with an Android stick but as we have different tastes in programs, we opted to buy 2 small side coffee tables and placed our laptops on them and with earphones, we can now watch whatever we want.
This worked well and we have not even switched on our TV since last year.
As of today. Camposat TV does not work if you have Add Block Pro installed so we deleted it. Good again but....
YouTube has so many adds on the screen that it is frustrating to watch.
Going on to this forum got me redirected to 3 different PT websites with balloon popups in Portuguese that we cannot understand. Clicking "Cancel" or "OK" does not help. You have to click on the little "x" in the pages open to get back.

Re: TV
Just an update. Deleted the Add Block Pro and installed the Add Block. Back to normal now. Perhaps the Pro version expired?
This still brings me to the conclusion that I have some spyware but I will find it.

Re: TV
We find it much easier just to watch Portuguese tv, and Spanish, for the GP.
