I think Uber only have licence to work in Lisbon / major cities. If you need a local Sao Bras taxi person who is official / registered taxi (green/black ones), speaks english and gives excellent service (picks you up at home etc), pls send me a private message and I'll provide contact details.

Why would I post incorrect information? Whatever your view on it, Uber functions in the Algarve, I have used it myself and if you put the destinations into the web app you will get an immediate quote. Faro is a major city

Interesting. Uber declared illegal by the courts last month. They may well be operating under a technicality as apparently the courts judged against Uber Inc instead of the Portuguese arm based in the Netherlands. DYOR.
