Panels aren't the problem, storage is.

Battery development hasn't kept up with the rest of the technology - but the push for electric vehicles makes it top priority. In both domestic and motoring, Tesla seems to be making the running.

I still can't see how Nissan, Ford, BMW and all the rest are shouting about improved capacity to give 200Km range, when Tesla already offers twice that (as well as superfast acceleration) .... early reports suggest even the new "budget" Model 3 entry level offers 300Km range and 0-60 in under 6 seconds. You'd almost think their hearts aren't in it!
