Hello! We are moving to the Algarve and my husband will be working in the Almancil area.

I have a 14-year-old daughter entering year 10- Could anyone advise what international schools are recommended?

I read there is one in Almancil called São Lourenço but when I search the website it comes up as a site for sale? Does anyone know if it is there and how to contact them?

I also looked online at Nobel in Lagoa and Aljezur International School -are there any others to consider and any advice?

Which school is considered best in Algarve within travel distance of Almancil for IGCSE?

There is a small international school in Burgau, near Luz, called Vale Verde.

Quite a commute, but not as far as Aljezur!!

Whilst of course the main international school for Southern Portugal, now combined with São Lorenço (Almancil) is now in Porches near to Lagoa

Hi thank you- so is the Sao Lorenco school in Almancil now closed? I mean there is no branch there anymore? We are staying very close so that would have been ideal.

Thank you. I have sent a message to them but they must be closed for the summer holidays. Do you have any idea when they start back at school? Is there generally places available or are there waiting lists? Thank you.

The old school premises in Almancil closed a while back and the site was re developed. There is a daily private school bus service now that picks up in various places.
