Hello, I plan to return to the UK next month. I live in central Portugal. Can anyone recommend a removal firm please? Thanks.

when we moved we considered 3 options
professional mover - average cost was over 3k
self move - buying uk van - fuel - tolls ferry etc - we did this - end cost was 1500
leaving or selling everything - starting again in new country -
in a move things get lost stolen damaged -
in the UK many things can be very inevpensive - we recently bought a new complete kitchen - almost new off ebay for 1k - fabulous and a leather 3 piece suite - as new -for our uk house for 80gbp
if we ever returned we would leave- sell all of the things that arent precious to us - use the 3k ish saved on removal costs - avoid all of the stress - packing - and start from scratch in the uk

Couple of top tips, check out FIDI website for a list of FAIM certified international removal companies that serve your area to make sure whoever you're using is fully qualified, licensed and independently vetted for overseas moving.

You can consider movers based in Portugal or in the UK and it might be worth getting quotes from both sides to compare.
