Do you know how the system works?! I see a lot of cars with a 'base price' and under they have 'electronic auction', so I'm guessing you can go and view the car(there are viewing dates and contact numbers) then you stick in an offer/bid by email or whatever.

Btw some of the base prices are over what the cars are worth, I wonder if they just do that as that's what's due on the credit and perhaps goes to auction at a later date when that value is not met. Others have very low base prices.

If there over priced - forget them, it's been reported that a lot off "fiddles" are worked & most off them are already spoken for!
How this works I have no idea.

Yep - go and view the Car / House + or other good's - on a viewing day , put in a Electronic Bid by using the site, but keep a eye on it.

There's a small old house in my area ,with a fair sized plot up for auction with a start price off 72.00€.

Well covered in the portuguese national press over the last two weeks.
If you are connected and use traditional methods then getting hold of the pick of the re-possd cars at the right price is not a problem.

Most sales are sealed envelope and you can attend the envelope opening and challenge process if it is not being run properly.

The problem, specially with motor vehicles, is that by the time the whole process has run its course, the vehicles are at least 2 years older than the official valuation, therefore there are not too many bargains.

In the case of properties, look out for auctions of 1/2 share (or other fraction) of a property - totally unrealistic to make an offer in such a case.
