When we move to the Algarve we intend to rent for around 3 months while searching for a property to purchase. Is it possible to set up a Post Restante address with the Post Office in Alvor or Portimao? This would save us redirecting mail to one address and then having to change that redirection for a second time when we do eventually buy.

We have just got back from Ponte do sor and noticed that they have many mail boxes, we asked with regards to post boxes for redirected mail (which we must do also) and they said it was not a problem, I sugest you go to the nearest in the toonw and enquire....

No problem with Post Restante; It will be held at the stated post office for your collection..P O Box may be a problem.May be a waiting list at some P O.

Thanks for info on Post Restante - do you know if PO in Portugal make a charge per item for this service?
