Jotuls are very good but cost a bit more than most.

If you have a large space to heat,or high ceilings, and you also want the warmth into the bedrooms etc,I would get one with a recuperator,ie an electric motor which pushes the warm air through various vents.

There are all kinds of different woodburners available, its really a matter of choice and what looks good in your house,ie modern, rustic etc.
There are dedicated shops around and they can also be bought at our B and Q type places.I would say they range in price from about 200 euros upwards, depending on size and quality.

Hope this helps a little

We have one in the house we have just bought. We put it on last night and ended up with runny eyes and a room full of smoke before we discovered a lever that blocked the chimney. Once we unblocked it things got better. We now realise that we need some basic instructions on using a wood burner. We are in Luz. Anybody know of a shop near us where we might get some advice?

There is a specialised shop in Lagos,I just have to figure out how to direct you to it
Ok just asked hub,now I remember.
Its opposite Intermarche, but not on the main road, look across from Intermarche on that other road and you should see it,its not massive, but has salamanders etc in the window.
If you cant see it immediately, just ask

Try these guys, fantastic stoves incredible prices for the guaranteed quality of their stoves, they will answer any question and give as much advise as you need, promptly.( I am nothing to do with them, just impressed with good service and quality)
I have bought one for my place in Spain, when I tried to compare locally I was looking at 3 times the price, so considering the delivery cost which is reasonable it was still much cheaper.

We have just returned from Tavira and have been looking at woodburners the cheapest price for the ones which we like was 1,400 euros!!! This was for a flush mounted modern one. Does anyone know who sells these at a reasonable price?
