English citzen emigrating to Portugal (Nr Portalegre )

I have been looking around this Website for over a hour seeking something about Portugal .
No such luck !

Is there anyone out there who can help ?????.
Planning to move March 2002 with large Old english sheepdog.
Anyone with any good advice and what pitfalls to watch out for , would be appreciated .

What do you want to know?

What Website you were looking around? If you referring to rec.travel.europe it is not
Website but Usenet group. I would suggest to go to any WWW search engine and type
Portugal. I tried with Yahoo and received a list of 377 pages on Portugal. ZAI

Thanks for the replies so far.
But I'm a first timer on this site didn't understand the rules (or the answers)frankly .
I hope I'll get used to you all soon !!!!.

One gentleman (WILLIAM ) asks what do I want to know about emigrating to Portugal (Nr Portalegre ) .

Anyone's personal experience's of living in the North Alentejo area would be welcomed.

I have been reading up for months now .Usefull facts but that's on paper.
It would be nice to know how any other Ex pats have been treated by the the local community .

All my man wants to is how much does a swimming pool cost?
(typical ).

Thanks a lot

Hi Lynda,

If the way the Portuguese people treat tourists is any indication of their treatment
of Expats, you are in for a truly wonderful experience living amongst them. They are
warm, friendly, helpful, kind and generous by nature. After three trips to their
beautiful country, I can honestly say I would love to live there. Lucky you!
