phone call to private hospital
Warning
I called last week to the private hospital in Alvor. The duration of the call was 3 and a half minute.
I received the bill today of that phone call: EUR 10.95
Normally I can call without any costs, but not lines that are "sur-taxé".
Not happy with this!!!

I used my french mobile, because I can call internationally 2 hours per month free. Every month my phone calls with this mobile cost me ZERO, except the phone number 707282828.
This is EUR 165 per hour, not bad for a secretary / call center.
One thing for sure, I won't call again!!!!!!!!

I call them al the time with my PT mobile without any such charges. I only ever have 10 euros or less credit on it.
On their website it says;
If you are phoning from outside Portugal: + 351 282 420 400
A normal PT landline number.

Maybe that is the problem.
I made a phone call in Portugal to the private hospital and I did not use the number phoning from outside Portugal, because I was inside.
But using my french mobile.

All PT fixed phone Nº's start with 2
i.e. my area = 262 + rest off number - the number you called as off your post is routed thru a high tariff system
Just carried out a reverse search off 707 282 828 & your call finally ended up @ the switch board off "Hospital Gambelas"

I never liked private health care because I am afraid that they are after my money. This time I had no choice, but next time I'll think twice!!!!!!!

I think the 707 numbers have a ceiling on charges fixed by the Portuguese telecoms regulator (Anacom).
Maybe it's an intermediary - your French mobile service provider perhaps? - that's dipping into your wallet to the greatest extent, rather than the hospital?
Can you get any more detail on the nature of the charges and who's levied them from an itemised list of calls?
