Beef pumped full of growth-stimulants is already being imported from the USA, so I'm sure you're right. Only when there is another health crisis like BSE, or the "boom" in dementia, will people start to consider what they are eating - and that might be too late!

Frankly California is a basket case when it comes to such stuff, effectively all fuel and all plastic bags in all of the USA are labelled as carcinogen by CA legislators. Last year someone there pointed out that in actual user applications sunlight was more carcinogenic but they couldn't afford the labelling...

If you want to whinge about human interventions dangerous to the environment you would do better to consider estrogenic chemicals, polymers ending up in the oceans and urban pollution.

DDT isnt made outside asia now but patent was owned from 1880ish by a swiss co, they actually won a nobel prize for it as it prevented malaria for a while.

Agent orange isnt an agro chemical, its a mix of 2-4t and 2-4-5t which with avgas was made famously for vietnam by the american military research people , the original chemicals were british in the 40's and britain used a version first in malaysia, 50's?

So wxx are you talking about? If this is just a monsanto bashing thread at least relate it to something they did.

Gmo is a generic concept, plenty of companies do it for lots of reasons, some better than others, but certainly its responsible for famine reduction in some places.

What planet are you from? You think a company who poisoned hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Vietnam and Laos requires defence from bashing?

You really think the GM is about helping people, it is about control and the highest level, control in farming wherever it is allowed....and that is just the start.

I guess in comparison to the other two DDT ain't so bad, only responsible for hundreds of thousands of cancer deaths. Monsanto carried on making it long after it was proved to be highly carcinogenic, by the same corrupt science employed by the tobacco industry and still do where they can get away with it. Barack Obama also won a Nobel prize for peace, just before he started the bloody war in Syria...oh and Alfred himself blew his brother's head off.... so a bunch of idiots then.

"Famine reduction"..are you serious?

Go on keep digging, how many people do you think died from malaria and how many do you think were saved by killing mosquitoes . You realise that 24t and 245T was manufactured by several companies on US contracts, there was no copyright/patenting. As for Alfred Nobel I wouldn't say inventing safer use explosives and helping to creating some of the worlds greatest mines and waterways was an act of destruction really. You Blame the gun not gunmen ?

I notice you have avoided the other two hideous products from Monsanto and it is true that DDT did help to control malaria. But Monsanto's guilt lay in the overselling of it, in applications where the harm vastly outweighed the benefits. "DDT IS GOOD FOR ME."

"Killing people just to make money"...that should be their logo. Monsanto have the trigger on the guns they make.
