long wave in the algarve

long wave in the algarve

can anyone tell me if long wave radio 4 can be recieved in THE ALGARVE(PORTUGAL) as i need to hear the ashes coverage badly..on a seperate note could i pick up world service using only FM&MW in the algarve using a clockwork radio.thank you

I always thought that BBC Long Wave only reached as far as Northern France,
Holland and other places within a few hundred miles of the transmitter in
England. MW and FM are both more "local" . So I think that the only way to
pick up Radio 4 OR the Ashes commentaries is either (a) via a satellite
receiver (b) via Short Wave BBC World Service see

or (c) using the Internet and getting a good connection speed and tuning in
that way.
Not sure if there are any local services available in the Algarve.
