GALP also have a Galp & Continente Plan which is the same rates but better deals if you are a Continente customer (as we are)

If you are on 13.8 Kva potencia like me, the IVA has remained at 23% and was not reduced to 6%. Apparently we did not need help from the government during this difficult period.

Re: IVA increase to 23% on PT electricity
My bill for April from EDP is the most complicated so far. (6.9Kw)
First they charge, 93 units at 6%, then the remainder 24units at 23%
Then later on there is another section called Taxas e Impostos, where they refer back to a period in March where they have added a usage at 23%
I will be calling in their shop to ask them to explain why this is.

Good luck with getting an explanation from EDP. I get periodic update emails from them telling me about price changes. I'm blowed if I can understand them. It's a bit like trying to understand articles in the Portugal News.

I'm none the wiser, then.
My bill was a bit odd on the number of units charged at each rate but I took it as being because of the billing period being in excess of 30 days - actually, in ths instance, marginally in excess of 60 days, since I'm on a bi-monthly billing cycle. I got 204 units @ 6%. And it was all fairly clear where the taxas e impostos came from for that section.
Not the case with you, though.

Re: IVA increase to 23% on PT electricity
I used 117kwh in that period (my readings given to EDP)
My bill amounts to e42.30 inc IVA and all the bits and bobs
So without the Potencia costs of e13.51 my bill = €28.79
I realise there are other costs associated like Audio,so my 117kwH cost e28.79 = e0.25kwH in total inc IVA...

Re: IVA increase to 23% on PT electricity
New charges from 1st June emailed today from EDP
e0.1406 kwH
Potencia e0.0972/day
This all seems a bit odd as at the moment I am charged e0.35/day for the potencia of 6.9kVA, but the emailed received today is saying that currently the Potencia is e0.0977 !!!!
If this is correct EDP must owe me some money....30 days at e0.977 = e2.93, against the charged cost on last invoice of 30days at e0.35 = e10.50

Re: IVA increase to 23% on PT electricity
The email from EDP refers to Conheça a sua nova componente de preço "Energia e Estrutura Comercial" or new "Energy and Commercial Structure" price component.
It is not the total charge. Look at the difference and apply that to your potencia and energy rates.

You might also consider EDP's current Eletricidade DD+FE - Digital 2024 tariff (which I am on but 10.35kW) for 6.9kW is
P. contratada e Termo fixo: 0,2835 €/dia
Energia: 0,1554 €/kWh
You appear to on their base rate
P. contratada e Termo fixo: 0,3473 €/dia
Energia: 0,1904 €/kWh
So change is definitely in the air.
https://simulador.precos.erse.pt/eletricidade/ is very useful but not 100% accurate so check rates and calculations.
For example GALP is showing €120 cheaper than EDP for my consumption but working out by day and kWh the difference should be only €20.
Also the consumption charge for GALP is much higher but as I'm currently in the UK my consumption is much lower so EDP wins at least until my return
