As we shall be in Conceicao nr Cabanas de Tavira at the end of June for 10 days, I wondered if some nice people out there will provide some information, on markets/ supermarkets for food close by, cheap and some better places to eat for breckie, lunch and dinners.etc, in fact all the low down one needs.
We often stay in Carveioro and use their website a lot but need this area covered this time round, please.

FUll English , mad hatters bar tavira , little orange cabanas.
Shopping new plaza tavira supermarket continente and the deli at the old market in tavira for things like t bags , sauce etc.
Portuguese style food restaurants o monteiro , or pedros on the main st in cabanas.
Few indian restaurants in tavira now and chinese.Theres even a chinese in the mall and two pizza pasta places.
Nightlife , bar polakos and quasimodos in cabanas , one or the other dependant on youthful energy.If those arent your scene the bar in pedras da rahnia might suit you better.
Markets will be in one of these papers , portugal news , or algarve resident.

Cabanas itself has a tiny indoor market on the seafront with a couple of fruit and veg and fish stalls - you need to get there by 12 noon. There are also a couple of good butchers (Talhos Modelo probably the best of the two) in Cabanas as well as a fishmongers at the Western end of the seafront.

Would really recommend the butchers as the meat is dramatically better than what you will find in Continente.

The small supermarket in Cabanas itself is decent enough but aimed more at tourists and expensive. If you are up the Conceicao end there is also a small supermarket on the campsite which is nearer.

For a bigger market the one in Tavira is great and there are lots of butchers etc. there too. Mon - Sat till about 1pm.

Cakes: if you only go to one Pastelaria it has to be Tavirense in Tavira.
