In the past I've been told it's full of out of date content - typical Daily Mail BS I suspect.

In the article they hinted that it would be old content, while raving about the fact that the cost was less than the UK license fee; as though the services were even remotely equivalent.

Get a VPN and use all British iplayers for free!!!!!

What a waste of time the BBC Global Iplayer. If you have an Ipad, Iphone or Iphone touch and no mention of a PC. Also no mention about the programs at all.
Why wuld anybody want to subscribe to a service that the provider gives no information about what you can see.
