Has anyone used GCEN Currency Services
Has anyone used GCEN Currency Services? I need to transfer some money but of course I'm a bit worried about the security of doing so, not having done this before.

I would second nogard. Transferwise is brilliant, easy to use etc. You get the headline rate minus about 0.5%. Very easy to register. You can see what you'll get without registering, logging in etc.
I had a quick look at GCEN - nothing tells you the rate you will really get unless you log in. 'Great rates' 'beat the banks' - standard claptrap. Transferwise is upfront. Each to their own.

Thanks. I registered and it was basically around 0.5% shy of the mid point. So sounds broadly similar to the rest.

I have used Premier FX for many years and have always been satisfied with their rate of exchange and their service. My daughter-in-law has worked for GCEN for several years. They are a well-established company as well as Premier FX.

Thank you. My biggest worry was this large (for me) sum of money vanishing into some abyss!!

I use Smart Currency Exchange , in London. Transferred many times, including the purchase price of our house. It's very easy to register, then when you want to transfer, you phone them, they give you the value ( rate ) , that then becomes a contract, send money to Smart Currency, job done. I'd imagine most rates are comparable, just the mechanics may be slightly different. Like you I was worried about money disappearing into the unknown. I sent smaller amount just to see I had all the right details.
