Portugese supply is the same as UK, so no problems there. UK telephones didn't work in Spain, so might not in Portugal. Freeview boxes will not pick up UK channels

A UK phone can work in Portugal but you will need a suitable adapter.
This This
might work (despite the back-to-front description). You may need to try more than one similar product. I use a short adapter cable that was supplied years ago with a computer to allow the modem to be connected if outside the UK.

Adapter plugs should not be used as a long term solution, they are a fire hazard. While the risk is tolerable for visits and occasional use, adapters cannot be recommended for long term use. Replace/ have replaced the plugs with ones to fit the sockets in your home.

I've never heard of telephone adapter plugs being a fire hazard.

I've used them for many years in Spain.

Bring with you a UK type MASTER phone socket - it has a small circuit board to enable the ringer on a UK phone to function properly. If you look inside there are two blocks of three connectors - use the centre one on each side to attach the incoming PT phone line (pins 2 and 5) . It will work just fine
