Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a rubbish tip/dump it site anywhere in the Tavira area please? We have some old knackered garden chairs and sun loungers that we need to dispose of - or should we just fill up the green bins?

im not sure if this is the right thing to do....

but we left some bigger household items next to the bin area...& they were taken the next day....?

We are near Ourique, but we also leave larger item next to the green bins and they are taken from there.

I agree that leaving things by the bins works - sometimes people recycle the thrown away objects. I also think there is a tip somewhere near Sao Bras for large items - not sure where exactly.

Thanks for all your replies. If nobody jumps in and says they know of a tip, we'll take the green bin route!

It just didn't seem right to clutter the area up but if the system works ...

No, the tip is on the road by the river from Tavira then you take the turn to the little chapel. Otherwise you take the road by Pezinhos and carry on. It's called the municipal dump and is where they have the unofficial bullfights.
