Some months ago there was mention that the PT government was going to cut the tax on cars so the prices would fall considerably. Have there been any developments in this sphere yet?? Anybody know?

There is an article on the back page of the Portugal news from ACAP car association telling you to buy cars before the 1st July even though the goverment say cars will be around 10% cheaper, ACAP say the goverment is going to raise the annual municipal stamp duty to compensate, do not know what it means but there you are.

Thanks, I thought something else would go up to compensate. Governments do have to get their money from somewhere otherwise how would they continue to provide for us so well.
