Re: Amazon Firestick TV
I know that now but previous poster didn't mention he'd done that - so wondered how he had got it to work?

Re: Amazon Firestick TV
I WISH anything worked for long in Portugal..We have tried a few 'systems' Now paying some guy in Almancil 400+ euro's a year for a connection to UK TV.. We are being bumped off more times than ever this month. Ditto our internet connection. OH fizzing last night. The mass of cables and boxes behind our DVD cabinet would make my deceased dad proud
Don't necessarily blame the guy!
Assuming your UK TV is being fed over your Internet connection sounds like part of the problem is with your Internet Connection. Who is the provider? MEO?
If MEO, are the phone cables to your house overhead or underground? If overhead, could well be problem with dodgy connectors between the exchange and the house.

Re: Amazon Firestick TV
Our friends in Albufeira are now on their third iptv product, this one being a 4g reliant service using a pirated tv server providing Sky ,BBC etc.
We popped round for tea while the federer matchvwas on.
Every few minutes it started buffering.
The only reason offered by the provider is the huge rise in demand on the systems with the arrival of tourists.

EMR, you are correct!
A large percentage of reports of buffering occur in in winter on late Saturday afternoon when the Premier League matches are on!
Basically the servers all the way up the line (Lisbon, tv feed server, node server, broadcasters server can't handle the demand for video feeds. It's not a "Portugal" problem, it's a global demand question as humankind's accelerating incessant need for 24/7 audio/video gratification means, even with the best will in world, humankind will never be satisfied!

If you have a half decent interner connection you can get everything you could possibly want from Sky Sports to newest on demand movies all legal & free of charge & legal with mobdro.com, kodi.tv & camposat.tv

Re: Amazon Firestick TV
If your provider is caught and shut down you will have no complaints.
I thought you were a great one for legalities ?

FWIW, you don't use a provider as such because you access the site directly not through a 3rd party. Or perhaps it might be more accurate to say kodi or mobdro etc are the providers.

Streaming, downloading, whatever way you do it, it's illegal if there is a country specific license attached.
It's very illegal, but not a lot that can be done about it. Most of these streaming services are directed via Russia so difficult to shut down.
Personally, one of the reasons to come to Portugal is to get away from British TV

Re: Amazon Firestick TV
According to their respective websites it is legal because it's streaming not downloading but I don't really know what the difference between the two is. However, I'd have thought if it were illegal Sky & others would have shut them down very quickly but they've been running for a long time now so I guess it's not illegal.

The process of shutting down goes in all the time.
The copywrite owners are always chasing the signal stealers.
Some trying to watch the Euros on BBC via Camposat found the signal blocked..

Re: Amazon Firestick TV
Camposat just re-package Filmon who had an agreement with UEFA not to re-broadcast Euro 2016 matches (and previously did the same during the world cup), so there appears to be tacit acceptance of re-broadcasting.
