Copout I hope your outbound flight isn't booked on one of BA's 'cancelled due to strike action' flights!

As I've been out the country for 6 months or more I cannot pass the vetting process.
Doesn't matter that I'm working for a police force in a crown territory, time served here don't count for sh!t.
My old force requires me to be a resident for 3 years prior to applying. So I'll have to do something else for a few years.

I was away for 2 years and came back to my old force so it does happen. Might be worth trying another force if you're desparate

I resigned, they wouldn't give me a career break. Started back with the same service I left with in respect of pay, annual leave etc.

They did this about 4/5 years ago with my force. You could leave and return without issus.

But in the last year or so it's changed.

The cynical among us say it's to stop people leaving for these sort of jaunts and returning a few years later.

Gotta go, there's a domestic call I need to attend and pretend I understand the patios dialect that's being shouted at me.

No the moral of the story is don't be on duty when a stabbing/shooting occurs. I've just finished a 28 hour tour of duty.

It's okay though, my bell-end of a supervisor has told me to come in two hours later for my next tour of duty, he's sooooooooo kind.:curse:

No moral of the story is stay in the uk.

At least my force makes sure if you have an extened duty, YOU will have your 11 hrs rest before your next duty and you can have the overtime as pay.

Hi Simon

haha i saw that you were interested in going to another force abroad somewhere on this site. Funnily enough i went to a stabbing 2 years ago with 2 hours left on my night shift, i ended up working 20 hours in the end and still had to come in for a late turn the next day

It does depend on your supers though to be frank.

You still thinking about transferring?

Eddie
