Default British Plumber heading to Oz help needed

Hi Folks

So the backpack is coming out again and heading of down under from the UK on my second year working visa, obtained this after doing three months outback work when I was in Oz in 2008.

I've been a plumber now for 12 years with a City & guilds NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Heating and Ventilation which was obtained in the UK.

I never done any plumbing work in Oz in 2008 as I wanted to do something different. But now Im going back and I want to do plumbing out in Oz and if it all works out hopefully get sponsored and stay for a long while.

Now Ive friends out there who are sparkies and they have told me to get an Australian Recognised Trade Certificate before I go to oz and also I'll need to go to TAFE when I arrive and do some exams.

Can any Plumbers out there who have similar experiences as myself give me some light on the matter and what would be the best approach to take, were i can do these exams and is a ARTC really needed before I arrive.

Any help would be fantastic

Regards

Nelly
