Default Nurse in UK

Pinoy nurse in UK found guilty of killing, poisoning patients | Pinoy Abroad | GMA News Online

Huge publicity here in UK news media. Must impact on other hard-working Pinoys in UK.

And your reason for posting it in the Philippines forum is.....? I don't see that his nationality has anything to do with it.

Much speculation in the UK media about his qualifications etc. This can only make things more difficult for Filipinos planning to come and work in the UK.
Is that not relevant ? You are the Mod. You decide and if you feel that it does not belong here, delete it.

My wife is SRN and properly qualified, she took the exam not a third party. getting a legitimate overseas placing involves two years work locally before being eligible for overseas posting as most overseas Health bodies require that.

I was under the impression that the UK Health Trusts did not accept Philippines qualifications without having them sit additional papers before starting work.

Having seeing the standards required of SRN I can fully understand why additional training is demanded before allowing work in the Uk

In saying that this individual is but one of far too many who have managed to cheat the system( all too easily IMHO) in their desperation to get away. The consequences are clear.

We put a niece through a nursing course five years at SWU. She got all her papers and qualifications, through hard work.
She has at long last secured a job overseas. So I hope this does not delay her posting.

it stated on the BBC news that this guy only just sneaked in under the net just before the UK changed the rules.in his day there was no face to face interviews and photo copies of exam results were accepted here. rest assured anybody who is trying to come and work here are 100% fully vetted now.even the UK police went to manila to try to trace and check this nutters certificates, its said they turned back when they could see all the dodgy certificates forgeries etc ready available on every street corner ! with these photo copied who could really tell if he was genuinely qualified ? and what does it matter where he came from? there will always be mad people

UK Angel of Death, and another nut-job from Scotland and to show that I'm not being racist, here are a couple of Pinoy nurses abusing a helpless elderly at a Singapore nursing home, and another nut-job from the Philippines who insulted his host country.

They come in all guises and all nationalities.

The tragedy is that the few cases like this arouse suspicions about genuine, caring and hard-working health professionals of all nationalities.

This issue may probably have an impact, but not that big,
We all know how good Filipino's are, and I know this issue
will fade soon
