Default Passport Expired

Hi Guys,

My passport is set to expire soon.....

Have any of you renewed your passport here in the PH? do you have to book an appointment in the embassy?

What is the current cost and timescales?

Kind regards

The Embassy does not handle passports .All passport issued in the UK
Check the UK Gov website it is a relatively easy procedure. A very efficient service my new passport application from start to finish took 21 days.
You pay online and send via LBC or similar.

Yes, the above posts are correct. I renewed mine a few years back, and it cost me £165 for the passport, and delivery of new one by courier. Plus of course the courier fee from here. All passports, are now issued in the UK.

21 days? Was that Pre-covid? Friend of mine took about 10 weeks last year. Maybe things have improved.

I thought that the uploading of the photo might be a problem looking at the requirements, but i got the local photo/printing shop to do that for me.

Regards

I renewed mine this year:
Sent by Fed Ex from Cavite to Liverpool on 28 May 2021
Docs arrived Liverpool 2 June 2021
New passport arrived Cavite 23 June 2021
Total time just under 4 weeks.

When I sent my wife's passport a few years ago, LBC said that as it was a passport they had to store it for 4 weeks before forwarding it on. I took it to their other office and just said it was travel documents and it arrived in just a few days.

Stokkevn

I had issues with LBC, they are very fussy about what they ship and always want to look at all the documents you are sending.
Once they opened my papers and started reading them out loud and other customers could hear.

We never use LBC anymore.

So long gone is the time when a new passport was received here in the Philippines within 3 weeks. The horrendous and inexcusable time to receive a new passport (10 weeks!!!!) seems to be the new norm. What excuse can the Civil Service have for continuing to work from home? The country is now completely open.
So all readers be warned if you passport is set to expire within the next six months now is the time to act.

Our passports expire in 4 weeks, we fly back to the UK next weekend, will renew both passports and wife's driving licence once we get back. 15 week holiday in the UK then back here for another 9 months.

Summer in the UK. That's nice! Going away anywhere while there? Don't forget to report a bit on the covid there.

I would check with the airline before rocking up with passports with only a few weeks left. A friend returning to the UK, from North Africa somewhere, had so much hassle at the check in desk that he nearly missed the flight. They were not going to let him on the flight because the rules said you must have 6 months on your passport without the caveat 'unless returning to own country'. He got the impression that they were worried that if they had to divert to another country and they would not let him in, it would be upto the airline to fly him back at their cost.

Sent mine off last year 18th November and got it delivered to the house on 24th Jan which considering there was 6 days to get to Manila on the way out, Xmas hols in there and the package sat in Cebu for 11 days before making the difficult last 250 km journey to my house is not bad.

Already done, the UK doesn't require 6 month on your passport.
