Pleased you fund it a no hassle experience. Now your lady has her new passport stamped there will be even less questions on the next trip.

I like KK very much, but the wife just thinks its another Mindanao!! If only Mindanao was half as civilized.

Next time we go we will take the ferry to Labuan for a day trip, it is a free port

Thanks mikemike. I have never been to Mindanao so I cannot compare the two. However, I do find that astonishing that she thinks its the same as KK.

One thing that surprised me was that she had to pay travel tax of about 1500k from memory. I was not liable for any tax. Why penalize the locals for wanting to go abroad?

Regards

travel tax is usually 1630p for permanent residents so that includes us if we are on the 13a visa. The Balikbayan exempts this as does the normal tourism visa. The penalty is dumb as it is per person the kids get charged half so family away is very expensive for me, even more so as being a 13a holder I pay an additional BI clearance fee of 2380 on top, not to mention the terminal fee!! We are booked for summer visit to Thailand for a week, the get out of town fees for the 4 of us are 7200 plus the terminal fees of 750 each included in the cost of the ticket so over 10,000 pesos in government taxes on top of air fares of 32000p.

Then of course you hope that your family does not get offloaded because I may be trafficking them!!NO refund!!

Crazy place
