Hi guys just a word of warning the BI satellite office in Marquee Mall Angeles City, senior immigration offices a man from Manila office, and the office manager , a woman that is there all the time and one other woman i think the cashier just asked me for 41,000 php with no receipt. the senior guy had the bare face cheek to tell me its a Philippine custom hahha. These people are representing their people, the government and the president they are a disgrace to this country.

The problem with them asking me is I have friends at the main Manila office and reported them there, had my visa renewed there and it was a lot of running around but it was all legal and WITH RECEIPTS HAHAHA.

On leaving I paid 2380 pesos for exit fee had a receipt for 1789, guess where the express lane fee went at express speed. This was last xmas to HK from T3 Manila

I flew out in Jan 2018, all above board and with receipt it now costs 2880 php

The 2880 figure is for a first time leaver it the drops by 500p for subsequent travel. Unless of course the corruptibles get to you. I have a 13a visa if that makes any difference

Definitely corruption going on there. The Philippines is great but the officials are too corrupt! You should have demanded a receipt. Shout and make a scene if you have to. Make them know they are corrupt.

that is one way to get escorted to the interview room where you will be detained long enough to miss your flight. They are not going to refund you and the BI will not pay either. You may then find you are going to be held for false accusations and face deportation procedures. Not fun if you are married with kids.

Just ask politely for an OR if they do not issue, then just ignore and move on, it does not hurt you. When you get back from your travels just ask by e -mail to the head office what you have to do to get an OR as you only have part receipt.

A friend had a novel way, that worked, when funds with no receipt were demanded. He just kept the guy talking for a while, then as he stood up he took his phone from his top pocket and made out he pressed a couple of buttons and the politely asked that if the guy was unable to resolve this he will have to have a word with his boss. It was resolved very quickly. Despite the phone not actually being on video record, mind you not sure what he would have happened if the guy called his bluff.
