work out a way to make money online while still in the uk, once u have a working method move to the PI.

If you have the right skills you can make it here.
If you can teach English then there are jobs in Manila and Cebu but don't expect to make big $$$ as an employee. The big multinationals will generally only pay local rates for foreigners unless they have very specific skills (usually senior management).
If you are interested in a call centre-related job then I suggest you hang around at some of the many industry conferences in Manil and network away.
The other jobs for young expats are the usual thing - moving companies and financial services. Here again you have to network with the expat crowd.
CDO is a bit of a backwater - there are relatively a lot more opportunities in Manila
