... No home, no job, no bank account

To be honest I've spent as much time catching up with people as I have been doing life admin. In fact I've only got out of bed before 9am once in 7 mornings.

One glaring thing about hunting for houses to rent is that be prepared for unclean chilly houses in viewing. Something I was fully prepared for being a BE member for nearly a year now, but yeah ... There have been some interesting viewings.

Basically for some of the houses simply put they would be in a fit state to let out in the UK, simple as. But, you know, they do it differently here.

I do have a car though, which has been a god send. It was ready for us on arrival thanks for family.

Job wise I've had two meetings already and have another new tomorrow. The suggestion that its who you know is holding up, two of those three meeting are though contacts. The other is a recruitment consultant, who I've been impressed with thus far.

All in all the people have been great, the houses have been crap - both of which I totally expected, so no surprises there.

Been there, done that ! Only a week, don't be a lightweight. Just wait until three months or more have gone by with little or no change.

No phone, no food, no pets. I ain't got no cigarettes.........

I smoke old stogies I have found, short but not to big around, I'm a man of means by no means...................

Going a bid on a home tomorrow and my wife has a job interview.

Just picked up a brand new road bike.

2nd interview for me on Thursday.

It's coming together, I think.

With regards to houses, I won't to look at EVERYTHING including the hell holes. That way I could judge good from bad, NZ style. There is no point comparing NZ to the UK. Here is my experiences with that: http://ryding2nz.com/category/invercargill/houses/

I didn't have a car, that is a real plus point for you.

As for the bank account, did that before I left the UK, and activated it with help from my employers , so I imagine that part is tricky for you.

Have a read of my blog, the first few months were hellish but it DOES get better.

OH came in June and was seeking employment, he went round handing out CV's, which is a done thing here, and not in the UK. He also went to work and income too, so he could simply get something to start him off, while he looked for something more suitable.

We've been looking at a lot of places.

Put a bid in on a house and lost.

It is a bit more complex than that, but the end result is the same.
