Is anyone currently doing this? And do you think that it is a feasible daily commute for small kids with parent?

Does anyone have any idea what daily commute times would be and is the border crossing from Malaysia a nightmare?

I know for a fact that a family of 4 is doing this. Commuting from Johor daily. I don't know them very well, only their kids are mid-graders age. I would expect that it's about 1 hr commute each way.
