Johor - Restaurants
There are some hidden gems in and around JB but without word of mouth it's hard to find out about them. This thread is for restaurant recommendations in Johor.
My first suggestion - probably the most well known (and non hidden secret) in Johor.
Chez Papa - www.chezpapa.com.my
Very good food - quite pricey but I would say its worth it.
Very friendly staff and great service
Great for occasions!
Fantastic Pizza:
Gianni's - Jalan Serampang, Johor Bahru 80400, Malaysia
Love the pizza here! Authentic Italian.
I know a lovely little hidden Thai restaurant as well but can not for the life of me remember the name. I will find out and update!
I love eating out and due to where I work it only happens once a month - would love to go to other places then just the above two so please let me (and others) know of any suggestions.
Thanks!

I've just had a drool over the Chez Papa menu. As you say, a bit pricey but looks very nice.

Thanks for starting this Carly. We don't have a clue where to go to eat and after yet another rubbish dinner in an overcrowded shopping centre this evening, I'm looking forward to reading all the reviews!
(To be fair - we were starving - just picked the first place with available seats - but it was terrible!)

Try this blog.

Just scroll and look at the rhs for other dishes.
I hope I'm allowed to post it.
There're a few other blogs about JB food.
I'm not usually overwhelmed by food blogs as they don't usually have the same taste as me but this might give some ideas.
btw we've passed Chez Papa many times and have looked in once or twice.
Unfortunately they aren't open at lunchtimes, the time we are usually there, and popping over the causeway in the eveing for a meal isn't worth the effort with the jams on the causeway, for me anyway, no matter how good the food.

At a place right now called Food Deco on Jalan Kuning next to Pelangi - tacky and quite cheap but food not to bad! Not as cheap as your general hawker centre but not expensive. About 4 doors down from Australia Clinic....which by the way is closed until 16th November!
