Change of working week in Johor from Jan2014
Read just now that Johor will be changing working week from Monday to Friday, to Sunday to Thursday from 1st Jan 2014.
Just wondering how that's going to affect you guys living there. Will the schools also change to Sunday to Thursday?

I hope the school doesn't decide to do the same or that will cause big changes in our household.... we'll wait and see.
I thought this place was progressive, forward looking.... I'm a bit worried they're going to ban beer next!

Just glanced at a newspaper outside the supermarket this morning and it was saying that "private" companies/industry would be able to choose whether to change, or stay Monday to Friday. Seems like a no-brainer to me...but...what do I know.

I certainly can't see MCM changing as there are too many kids coming over from Singapore to the school whose parents wouldn't be off on Fridays. How would that work?

All banks will remain the saturday & sunday as rest day, no change. Most international schools will follow too.

That's good about the schools...so shouldn't get too complicated with those commuting to Singapore.

For your info Kedah state (mostly government dept & government schools) has been practicing Thurs & Friday off for a very long time.
However for banking and private sectors most of them are still on Sat & Sun.
