Despite the top notch security here, a family was robbed at knifepoint in the early hours of the morning today.

Yes, it can happen anywhere, probably more likely in the UK, but it's not quite as safe as I thought it was....

Nobody hurt, kids obviously upset and small high value items (computers, iPads, phones, wallets) taken.

Lock your doors, wherever you are!

Well, they can't have got through the gates without leaving a driving license or ID Card, so they probably just climbed over the fence! Security is good, but predictable. I expect they hid somewhere until they saw the security guard pass, then they knew (probably from "insider info"!) that they had 30 minutes to carry out the crime.

Edit: Just thinking about it, I've seen a wild boar on two occasions in the last couple of months wandering around the empty plots across the road! There's likely a hole in the fence....!!

Yeh we used to get that in our 24 hour secure site in Thailand. Holes in the perimeter fence. Also had some inside job where a wall safe got removed from a wall in one house and somehow transported out of the secure site

Have to say, even having been bag snatched here, feel safer than in Thailand.

I feel safer here than the UK, to be honest, even after the break-in a few doors away. It can happen anywhere. I'm going to try and buy a gun!!
