Default UK preceptor midwife thinking of working in Australia for a year +

Hello all,

I am a recently qualified UK midwife (Sep 2017) and am currently doing my preceptorship in London which is due to end in November 2018. I would love to go to Australia to work and travel for a year + ? but have no idea where to start in terms of the realities of this happening.

Couple of queries to start...

1. What are the chances of me being able to find a job having only 1 year of experience working in the UK?

2. Does any know how it works in terms of obtaining a temporary work visa?

3. I value the role which i have as a midwife here and am aware that most hospitals in Australia are obstetric led and i dont want to loose my clinical skills and current role i have as an autonomous practitioner. Does any know if any midwife led units, birth centres or hospitals where i would be able to practice as i am accustom to exist.

This is all just a dream at present but if anyone can direct me to a starting point so that i can begin to make this process happen id really appreciate it

Thanksss
