Default Registered Nurse/Student Midwife prospects

Hello,

First post on here so bear with me....

I am a UK registered adult Nurse currently undertaking my 18 month top up midwifery course. I am extremely interested in working in Perth once qualified as a Midwife and I'm trying to figure out my future prospects. I am due to qualify May/June 2016.

I have looked into current vacancies and noticed Midwifery pool positions advertised. When would I be eligible to apply for such a position? Do I need a certain amount of experience post qualification?

Also, what is the salary for a RM? I have researched via the vacancies and it was a bit lower than I had expected......how does it compare if you are applying as a UK band 6?

Any information would be hugely appreciated .

Thanks in advance!

Thats a good start
One of the biggest hurdles for nurses and midwives is registration with AHPRA and there have been discussions in our Nursing forum about the difficulties some midwoves have faced.
I'll move the thread into there so that those 'in the know' can see it
