Thank you! I sure will be celebrating tonight as long as my friend Sue bags a job 2! I'm heading over on the 457 visa initially and applying for perm residency once I have 1 yrs experience, already sent of the app for QNC reg so just a waiting game now!

good luck with your interview mooncat I'm sure you will be just fine, let us all know how you get on! i'm heading back to manchester again now to go to the NT expo and support sue!

New life, New Start and with what seems like a great organisation to work for! Bring on the barbies and the hot surfers (I'm hoping!)

Hi Sarah,
Well done, congratulations! Just a question for you, were you given any choice in the areas you wanted to work in, did you specify Cairns etc, or did they just tell you where you might be sent?
Once again, well done!
Simone

Talking Re: Interview in manchester!

Hi simone, I was given a choice but it also depends which area you want to work in and where the vacancies are.

My friend Sue got a job today as well, Yippeee!!!! and they have asked if we would like to go to the gold coast coz they can place me in ICU and sue in Surgery so we can stay together.

They are very flexible and will cater for your needs as much as possible. They want you to travel and experience Australia as well.

Hope that helps!, back to the celebrating

Hi Rach,

The fee for registration with the QNC is $234 I think. You have to pay in dollars and we paid by credit and debit card there is a section on the app to put your card details.

I'm sure the interview will be fine though I know I was feeling really nervous 2! Just remember to be yourself, and think logically what you would do and be thinking in whatever scenario they give you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed 4 ya for thursday, please let us know how it goes xx

Hi all,

Slight delay as have spent the last 24 hours going through every emotion under the sun. I GOT THE JOB!!! The interview was fine, the ladies were really nice and it was dead relaxed. They asked me after what specialism I was interested in and then suggested two areas I should consider...gold coast hospital or the Prince Charles. Think I have decided on the PC. just need to email and let them know.
Can't believe it. Didn't think it would effect me like it has to be honest. Now have to wait for ANMC and then send off for 136 visa. They did say they would sponsor for a 457 but I explained that I really wanted the PR and would they wait and they said yes, a job offer is a job offer and that's that.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Rach and Sarah,
Thanks! I am really over the moon. Have to say that after the interview I didn't speak all the way home and then when we got in I promptly burst into tears of terror and joy!! How mad is that.

Rach, as far as the interview goes, try as hard as you can to relax and take deep breaths. They really want you and if you believe that I think it takes a bit of the pressure off. Although I m an RMN my questions will be different to what you will get but the core issues are the same. They ask the same things as all other interviews in my experience...person centred care, examples of how you can show best practice, assessment, what you would do in a stressful situation, how would you handle conflict with a colleague etc etc

They said they wanted to get me over asap on a 457 but I explained that I wanted PR and they were fine about it. Have you registered with the QNC yet? Are you looking for a nurse post or a place on the grad program?
