Default How long did registration take?!

Hi

I'm a newly qualified midwife and have been offered a job in Perth. WA do not accept direct entry midwives onto their register and I have been advised by the Hospitals HR dept to register in another state first then I can register in WA (as already registered in an australian state)!!

I was just wondering how long registration has taken people in the different states as unsure which one to go for. Desperate to get over there as NO JOBS here :curse: and I'm sad to say I'm getting a bit sick of Phil and Fern , although I'm sure once I'm there I'll be missing them like mad!!

Hi

I registered with Northern territory and it took approx 2 weeks alot quicker than most other states from what I have read on the forum. They issue an interim certificate first then a full one in 6-8 weeks but you can work on the interim. I think its an area targeted for fast as they have alot of vacancies.

Good luck

Sarah

Thanks for your replies, 2 weeks sounds a bit better than 6-8, I'll have to find out if Northern Territory take direct entry!

Just got the lovely prospect of form filling now
