British nurse going to work in Australia - need advice.

I'm looking for some advice! Currently a staff nurse in ED, looking to go and work in Aus. Sent off my ahpra application last month (17th July), waiting to hear back - I haven't heard anything - how long does it usually take?
I'm also wanting to get a more permanent job where I can work continuously for 3-6 months before I start travelling, which nursing agencies are to be recommended?
Thanks, any advice at all would be greatly appreciated :) I'm a bit confused on how to start the whole process off

hiya have you had anything yet? I sent mine on the 22nd of June, after a few comebacks they have said its now gone for management review, this was just last week, reassuring though but the waiting is painful. good luck

I am hoping to go next year by this time. I have a family so I would like to go via the permanent residence visa so that means the process is going to be longer for me.i wish to go to small towns near Melbourne like Geelong but anywhere where there are jobs am up for it

Wow you are on the ball, well done. I am looking at end of Jan/beginning of Feb for just one week to present to Ahpra and then apply for the 189 visa for my familyxx
