Just got mine back. Seven weeks from sending to receiving my new one plus three weeks for NZ Immigration to transfer my visa.
And of course I applied the day before they dropped the cost from 140 to 82 quid, pah!

I sent mine away to be renewed last weekend. I hope I get my new one before it expires .

Ours came back at the 6-week point - worryingly the website still states they are still being "processed", maybe we will get another pair.

They also came back on their own, without the old passports - hope that doesn't cause a problem with swapping the Residency visa's over to the new passports...

I've just had my passport amended (I'm still in the UK) and they sent my old passport back separately a few days later so hopefully you'll get yours soon.

I got a missed delivery ticket from a courier firm when I got home last night. My husband called by the courier firm's office this morning and collected........my passport.

Woo hoo ! OK, it's my new passport, no sign of my old passport but hey. I guess I'd better look into getting replacement PR stickers to put in my new passport.

Should I chase up my old passport or just see if it comes in due course ? I understand there's a huge backlog of passport applications presently. So, returning old British Passports to the right people isn't really a priority. As Simonsi waited a week for his old passport to come, I'll give it a week or two and see what comes in the post/courier.

My new passport turned up. Next day my old passport turned up. Presently my application is being processed so my PR entitlement can be put into my new British passport. The fee for that is $180.

The results are now in:

22 May - Passport application mailed from Auckland
27 May - Passport application delivered to Passport office in Liverpool
21 July - New passport received in Auckland
29 July - Old and now cancelled passport received in Auckland

I have visited the DIA office in Auckland for a new blue sticker and now all my paperwork is up to date and will be good until the year 2025.

According to their website it's $105. Guess I'll find out next week when I go to Wellington to do it.

actually that was for out 2 yr visa renewals so it may be cheaper if you are just transferring ?

Yeah, I was charged less than the website said. I can't remember but $105 sounds about right. I'm at work so I don't have the receipt to hand.

Gosh, that really stinks, have to say that I am in Australia ATM I entered OZ on my brand new NZ passport. Booked to go back to the UK to see the folks and realised that both my UK and NZ passport need updating. Was told that I could only re enter OZ on my NZ ppt as that was the one I entered the country on. Anyway, did the update for the ppt online, paid online sent in the photos etc to the NZ High Commission in Sydney. Posted on a tuesday, imagine my total shock and delight when at 8.30am on the THURSDAY my brand new kiwi ppt turned up hand delivered by a courier. Not only that, I got an interstate phone call from the High Commission to say they had received my application and it would be issued within 48 hours AND the person that signs the back of the photo to say its a good likeness of you got a phone call, from AUCKLAND asking questions about me, like how tall I was and the colour of eyes etc. She was stunned and asked why they did that and was told the high commission in Sydney double check on a % of applications, I thought that wonderful. Sydney, had all my documents online, citizenship, BC, MC didn't have to send any in, if they can do it why can't everyone else?
