All good in Marlborough thanks, had a couple of random lava bombs land in the garden, lucky the old Nor'wester is a blowing today and any pyroclastic flow has been sent to incinerate the latte drinkers in the North Island.

I think Ambae (one of the islands in Vanuatu) may be closer to Australia than NZ, but could be wrong.

The other volcanic activity is Mount Agung which is on Bali.

Could have used them to light the fire pit or bbq At least you won't need a flashlight in the dark.

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything over here but NZ does have a lot of volcanos. Did find this site - https://www.geonet.org.nz/volcano which reports on volcanic unrest (as well as earthquakes and such) but that doesn't seem to have anything recent either.

I did see on our news that the eruption on Ambae has polluted the water, and the whole island is being evacuated. Mount Agung is having numerous tremors every hour and that is expected to erupt in the next few days and parts of the island have been evacuated.

We slept through it in our household but the ash should help the potatoes anyway.
