Re: ON TV THIS MORNING - 'WANTED DOWN UNDER'
Good luck!
You all came across well in the programme. It is clear that you are a close knit family with a healthy attitude to family life. Your children are also a real credit to you and themselves. How are they feeling about it now, especially Connie?
Fingers crossed that it is all that you wish for. Carmen

Re: ON TV THIS MORNING - 'WANTED DOWN UNDER'
When we got on the programme every family was asked what they wanted in a house...I think the family who got the weird holiday let said they liked something quirkyand boy did they get it...and yes their new accommodation was paid for.
They edited loads of stuff out that i thought was more interesting and included the 'cable car tantrum' for good tv moment...we found out after that they were in a mood because the camera man was always in their faces with the camera and tried to 'put words into their mouths and directing the conversations to what topic they wanted
my girls were loyal though
Me and the girls leave the UK on the 11th Jan arriving in chch on 13th, Rick will follow once the house is sold...will go on the market as soon as he's finished the bathroom!
got car sorted thanks to Frenchy's OH
trying to get rental sorted...Gowhow looked at some for us
now just need to furnish rental once we've secured one
enrol into school
and do the million and one things on the list
my heads spinning just thinking about it all

That'll teach them for asking for "quirky" -
Wishing you all the best in your new adventure - it seems to be really quick - since you were only just talking to Nadia (is that her name?) this morning ( - I love my own jokes).
Your girls were a real credit to you - are you going to adopt me?

Just watched it, what a lovely story. You are rightly proud of your daughters, the tantrum in the gondola was hilarious, clearly jet lag kicked in, combine that with an annoying camera man and I am surprised you all held up so well!
There is a kiwi saying "world famous in NZ", you are world famous on britishexpats.com
one question though.... I was fascinated when you checked the babies temp with just a finger.... do you have finely tuned fingers or do you just look for extremes? You can prob tell I havent had kiddies yet .....

We recorded the show and the five of us sat down to watch tonight. Buy that last house! Gorgeous or what! You all came across really well, and it was good to see that even though the family were originally split, you came together in the end and even your eldest daughter was able to see both sides. We have girls and know it will be difficult for them to adapt, particularly our 13 year old.
Christchurch looked great but my Husband isn't convinced. He wants year round sunshine.
Good luck. We all wish you well.

Christchurch doesn't really suffer from prolonged overcast gray periods.

I read somewhere that Blenheim is New Zealand's sunniest city. Generally speaking, the east coast has drier weather than the west coast due to prevailing winds (mind you there are always exceptions).

Sure is sunny here in Marlborough today, but I think we're pretty full for now
P.s. Bad luck to all those in Nelson, I think we have just reclaimed the crown as the sunniest place for 2007, although it was pretty close at one point in December
Back to thread; I WANT TO SEE THE PROGRAMME!!!!!
