Wide fit shoe brands?
Maybe a random question...
I have recently moved to Wellington, and have really struggled to find any shoes that fit me properly. In the UK I wear size 3 wide-fit shoes which are widely available from many shops, but everything I tried on here seemed to be quite narrow. Currently I am making do with a pair of black flats from Topshop which are horribly uncomfortable... any ladies experienced in buying shoes here who can recommend brands that do wide fit shoes?

Marks & Spencers
No1 Shoe Warehouse does do some wider fits but mostly old nanna styles.
Hannahs - does some Clarks but don't recall seeing any that were specifically wide fitting and similarly with Hush puppies shops. If you can get a second mortgage you could try and find an Ecco store.
https://zierashoes.com/nz is also another one that caters for comfort but again is second mortgage territory

Sports shoes New Balance come up the widest with D, 2E, 4E and 6E fittings.
Ziera does wide/extra wide (removable insoles), although you might find the styles a little dull. Hotter from the UK do delivery to NZ for 12.50GBP Hotter Shoes UK - Stylish and Comfortable Women's & Men's Footwear | Hotter UK
Otherwise off the top of my head Ecco, Keen, Frankie4, Kubos, Revere and Propet.
Shoes here are pricey and there's not that much choice. For the short term you might be better off getting the odd pair from the UK, especially as the exchange rate and current taxes are slightly in your favour.

I tend to get my shoes from Mi Piaci now. They aren't cheap but they are well made and last for ages. They've got a sale on now!
I'd rather save up and get a decent pair of shoes that last and are comfortable than make do with the alternative.
I bought some wider width shoes from Marks when I was last in the UK and they felt okay when I wore them there, on returning here they really pinched my feet. I think my feet swell more here due to the heat .

Try Gubbs on Wakefield Street (next to the West Plaza Hotel). I need to wear orthotic inserts, and find that they have a good choice of shoes that will take my inserts. They usually have end of season sales where you can snap up a bargain.
Seconding Ziera, they have a good choice of wider fit shoes, again check them out in the sales.
Online, I've found Naot shoes from Amazon.com have removeable footbeds, they may have wider styles, and the exchange rate against the US isn't too bad at the moment.
I was told, but have never tried it, about a shop in Happy Valley, that sells Reiker shoes incredibly cheaply. Might be worth a jaunt.
My usual go to is Clarks, they don't ship directly here, so I use my YouShop account for that.
In case you hadn't realised, shoes are my passion!

Have you tried Bay Shoes in Lower Hutt or Kilbernie? There is also a more specialist shoe shops in the Karori Mall. They both stock Clarks and we used to take the kids there when they were younger - but I'm pretty sure they do adult shoes too in width sizes.
