Talk about cutting it fine!!!
Hello All,
Right then - here's our story:
We put our EOI (with job offer) in December and were sent the ITA on 16th February. We have got all the information requested (medicals, reference etc) and have just been waiting on the contract of employment from the chap in Auckland.
We have been waiting and waiting and getting more and more stressed as we're nearly at the 3 month deadline!! My husband has spoken to his employer in NZ today and he is coming to the UK in May and wants to meet my hubby and give him the contract then (a nice personal touch) - although cutting it VERY fine!!
They have arranged to meet on 12th May which means that we will send it, along with all other ITA stuff next day delivery to immigration in London - 2 days before the deadline!!!
Just to complicate things a little more we are hoping to leave the UK mid-June (13th) and fly to NZ to start our new life - we have a baby arriving in August so dont want to leave it much later to fly out.
Do you think there's any chance that our visa will be approved in 4 weeks???!!!!!!!!
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Thats all a bit stressful, but great too.
My daughter had her visa approved in 4 weeks and went to Auckland 3 weeks ago. It was quick because her boyfriend had a job offer to start in April and the case officer processed everything very quickly, with not too much persuading, so hopefully yours will come through too.
Best of luck with the baby, Lindsay x

Might be worth you attaching a covering letter setting out your situation
It should be OK - we really cut it fine too. We ended up borrowing a friend's motorbike and hand delivering our application to NZ House on the afternoon of the day the ITA expired!!!!
We got our passports back with the blue stickers 9 days later!

Hi Natalie
Can I suggest your DH contacts his prospective employer and asks him to send the contract anyway.
Tell him that it will allow some time, should NZIS have any queries before your deadline. Also add that your DH is still happy to meet with him and can then hand over his SIGNED contract
If you submit sooo close to leaving and they do query any of your ITA or request further evidence, you are not gonna make that flight date.
And should the very worst happen and the job offer is withdrawn, you will find out BEFORE you submit your ITA and commit all your hard earned cash on the application ( and flights, removals etc)

There's a chance 4 weeks is possible. Do you have communication stating he'll hand over the contract on the due date? You could try submitting your application without the job offer but with covering letter so that it was at least lodged with immigration. By the time they get around to processing it you'll probably have the article to submit.

Hi nat
We did not get a job offer until 16 dec and the wife started work on 28 jan. Had no visa's, so had to come out on visitors visa and go to chch immigration to get work visa. We applied for ITA in UK before we left and that came through in feb. So had to post passports back to UK NZhouse to get visa's Only took 8 days to get pass ports back so they must have processed them the day they got them. London nz house works alot quicker than here ,so you should get it all in time fingers crossed.
Good luck with the little one
