I know this keeps cropping up, but I have had quotes from the following;

Pearsons
Masons
Crown
PSS
Robinsons

The costs range from about £5700 to £8000 (not in the listed order). It seems that some include quarantine costs and some don't. The costs are for about 1600/1700 cu ft i.e. a 40ft sole use container.

I really can't see much difference between these, and would like to know if anyone has used these companies.

(Apologies if this is covered in this detail elsewhere.)

I shipped home my stuff last year as a returning NZ Citizen. Are you bringing only personal items and are they exempt from tax?

My 40ft container was £1975 shipped to NZ, but I did all the packing of all my stuff, dropped off all my boxes, car and motorbike to a Vehicle exporter (FoleySV). They loaded it all into the container when it arrived at their workshop on the back of a truck.

Here are my charges on the NZ side:
Note that I had to pay $3,380.40 tax on one of my vehicles due to not owning it for over 12 months Otherwise the bill would have only been $2301.64 and even less when you take off another $450 for inspection of the vehicle.

The way I did it they put it on a ship for you, then its your job to find a shipping agent and sort out the rest but you can save a lot of money doing it yourself.

I had a good shipping agent on the NZ side and would recommend using him. Andrew at crawford and walker.

Play them all off against each other
Tell each one you like the sound of the service they offer but you have had a cheaper quote that you
are seriously considering and ask if they can improve on their original quote.

They will all drop their quotes.

I used Crown and was very happy. Packed, shipped from UK, collected in NZ and delivered to my new
front door with damages or loss all by crown

Also look at independent container insurance. Don't just take the one on offer from the shipping company.
