Re: RWC - Triumph or flop?
yep that's why I asked if anyone has anything on "participation"......
and my quote clearly says "fans".
You must have been in too many rucks left you with concussion.
Doubt that more people play rugby worldwide than play cricket in India, unless you mean playing it has to be done on turf/pitch with a ref/umpire and the kit washed afterwards by some housekeeper before the house teams break for rectal flower arranging....in that case I suppose more people might be out there biting, gouging and punching with or without the optinal broken backs from scrum-anigans.
Bet golf, swimming, cricket, baseball, basketball and a few other team games are more popular than Union.

Gotta see some of those 'hospitality packages' to believe it.. read the small print some are not even at the games.
Erm this event is actually held at some offsite tent, with a big screen and all you can eat and drink for $5,000 a pop.

Guess who's just bagged a ticket for Eng V Scot?
I don't know how many points a try is, how many players on each team and I can't name one England player but I do know all the pubs up Kingsland.

Brilliant..........A must for every Kiwi. About 1 hr for off.... ITV1 UK are televising every single match live here. We have been having quite a good build up to every rugby supporters main event.....Good luck to all entrants (even England!) and hopefully no nasty injuries on the pitch or in the bars....

Sounds like Auckland absolutely mental right now! Hope that helps all the doubters on here!
My men are off to Hagley Park, so I will no doubt here all about it from them. Grrrrr - should be there!
So, whoever you support (my best mate is Welsh ), enjoy it for what it is and soak it up!
