Kind of a nonsense, its obviously included in the rent. Makes comparison with the UK rental market a bit difficult but then that <is pointless> as are so many other comparisons.

Suffice to say the landlord is responsible for it (and fixed but not metered water charges)...

Yeh i am aware of this, you can work, just cant sign a full time contract, but it all depends on the employer, i already have a job lined up. i have 3 months period on a working holiday visa, then if all goes well then will change it to work to residence visa.
