Default Capital gains tax implications on house sale in New Zealand

My wife and I returned from living in New Zealand for just under 9 yrs , 2yrs ago. We still have a house out there which is rented out. We are returning there next year to sell it and wondered how long we need to be back in the house to be exempt from capital gains tax
Can anybody offer advice or know who we could contact to find out

The brightline test is 2 years, but under the new government, will be extended to 5 years. Have you ever lived in the property? Or has it been rented the whole time?

I'd suggest you contact a NZ accountant, tax is one area where you don't really want to rely on what you read on an Internet forum...
