Our last weekend in Auckland, Dunedin here we come.
My last full day at work today, we leave on Tuesday and our furniture goes on Monday. I'll not be a Jafa or a Westie anymore.
My wife is flying to Dunedin and my cousin is flying up to Auckland and both of us are driving the car all the way down to Dunedin and taking the dog with us. So it's going to be one hell of a drive, we're planning on driving through Christchurch and having a look round.
What I'll miss about Auckland:
Vulcan Lane and Viaduct Harbour pubs
Friday night outdoor cinema at Silo Park
Real Groovy
West Coast beaches
The Auckland skyline
K Rd
My local pub up Kingsland 'Bond Street Bar'
Auckland City FC
Things I'll not miss:
Commuting on the train
The North Western Motorway
Coffee W@nkers
Not being able to afford a house
Idiotic motorway driving
Living in a 'dry' area
My job and terrible boss

Near me in Chch is Monteiths brewery bar in Merrin Street happy hour 4-6 pm 7 nights beer at $5 per (real) pint...

Good luck Matt. Hope all goes well. An overloaded car, your cousin and your dog. I hope you take turns with driving. About how long will the drive take ? Will you get an Interislander sailing the same day that you leave Auckland ?

There's little chance I'll get a perm job doing what I do in the South Island, so I'm most likely going to have to look for part-time work and hope to develop a business or re-train in another field.
