M&S online.

M&S online.
Well. I have finally gone and done it. I ordered items from M&S online. Linen to be precise. Not Manchester which is a city in England . Nope. Bed linen.
In past years MrBEVS has brought back assorted needed or wanted items for us when he has made his respite care trips to spend quality time with his old Mum & to give his uncle some down time With her passing in Feb that will be no more.
I have visitors coming in some months time and I need nice new linen for them. Well. I need it for us too. Ours has seen better days by far.
Spent quite a frustrating and annoying time looking here for linen. It's around all right in assorted shops but I am surprised it is not behind locked cabinets it is such a shocking price. Poor choice and mostly one has to buy sets for goodness knows what reason.
Anyway, my feet finally decided to have a flounce & stop with the walking on a mission to nowhere. So today, I have sat all cosy in front of my laptop with a cup of tea and *sounds of far off bugles* ordered some lovely new linen, just as I want it to be, at a good enough price & far less than on the NZ high street, from good old M&S.
I'm a bit pleased.

Welcome to my world. You do realise that there's no going back now .
Enjoy your new bed linen when it arrives. I get most of my stuff from either M&S or Monsoon when I can.
Sure you'll be doing another order soon

welcome to the dark side.
hope the actual quilt fits the cover or you may just have to order some new of them as well.
I also use Tesco's and Debenhams and good old Ebay and Amazon

I did virtually all my shopping online when I was over there as most British shops deliver - even John Lewis!
There will be no going back now you have started! Enjoy.

Re: M&S online.
My problem with M&S is since they've forced us to NZ version of their site, the prices on it are typically 25% more than same on the UK site which I regularly used to purchase from.
An it's not as if we paying the NZ import duties either, if it's over the NZ limit you'd get lumped for import duty and admin charge. M&S are pocketing the VAT that's not charged on their exports, and charging higher prices to boot.
The other issues is the NZ site doesn't have access to the same Customer reviews either.

I found my fitted sheets didn't fit NZ beds. I tend to wait for the Farmers sale to get 50% off bedding stuff. If you've brought your duvets over then you should buy the covers from the UK as the sizing is different.

These fitted sheets will fit our NZ mattresses as I double checked the actual sizing & depth .
I have bought duvet covers here though and again just double check the sizing to ensure they will fit. They do. No probs.
There are an assortment of bedding size comparison charts on the net if one doesn't have a tape measure.
I checked on-line and per the M&S website but then still flicked my trusty tape measure around , even though I knew the sizes really.
Anyway. I'm happy. No more hoofing around trying to find what I want & no hoping something will be in stock come the sales.

Must be the week for it, I did a big order with M&S too...although it was from the lingerie dept. for myself and DD. Word to the wise if you see something you want order it straight away, I left it a couple of days and half the things I wanted had gone out of stock. But, hey, I can put up with that...M&S knickers are the only ones for us!!!
